My Dear Jane Progress

Helena and Simone were busy working on their blocks, Simone and I made the same one so we helped each other, thanks Simone.

We had our first Dear Jane afternoon on Saturday, it was great fun, I learnt the technique of Foundation piecing and managed to finish 2 blocks, I was very happy, then yesterday while it was still fresh in my mind I made 2 more.

What's in the box??

I bet you thought there was choccy's in the box didn't you, well its better than chocolate, inside are 320 2 1/2 inch squares. Each box has different ranges, I have Kansas troubles Vine creek and Collections for a cause, I plan to use them in my Dear Jane quilt.

Busy Lizzie

This weekend I had to chance to do some quilting on my own projects, I went to work yesterday and spent 4 hours happily finishing off my quilts onthe big long arm quilt machine, they look really lovely and I'm pleased with the designs I chose, you can't really see the quilting in these photos. This log cabin mini quilt is a BOM I'm doing with The Quilted Crow, its called Laura's legacy and each month we get a mini kit.
This is my table topper I made from a charm pack I got for christmas, it was fun to do and I like the way all the blocks go together to make it look like a square in the middle,

This is Nicky holding up the back of the topper but the quilting doesn't really stand out in the photo.

A busy weekend

I love a long weekend, especially when you have time for sewing, yesterday I started putting these blocks together, they are from Natalie Birds book "From the Heart" The quilt is starting to look really pretty. I also made a few more Dear Jane blocks, I'm really loving these, I must admit to doing the easy blocks first. Once I grasp the technique of foundation piecing I'll be able to tackle the more difficult blocks. I hope you all found some time to work on your projects over the weekend.
