Sewing fun.

I have had  such a fun time in my sewing room this week. I finished a few projects and of course started a few new ones. I sorted my Bonnie and Camille  scraps and made a table runner. I love how it turned out.
I also made a cushion, this was one of my very first designs and it was fun making it up again.

Yesterday I taught a patch work class at Patchworks plus in George Town, we had a great day, the ladies are lovely and they picked up quilting in no time. We made disappearing 9 Patch quilts.
Sarah also has a new web site, its beautiful. You should take a look when you get a chance.

This is Kaylene, one of my students, she is a real character. I'm looking foreward to teaching them again in the future.
Our number 2 son Jacob turned 16 on Thursday, when did he get so tall. My boys are growing up so fast.

Now its time to take our eledest son on his driving lesson, wish me luck.
Have a great day and I hope you get some sewing done.

Friday night sew in and I have a new design just published.

Another busy week has come and gone and what better way to end the working week than with some sewing. Last night I started putting some of my scrappy Kansas Troubles star blocks together. I made these in January and they just got put aside.
Now winter is here I want this quilt for the lounge so I thought I should  make a start at putting it together. I love the black sashing between each block, it really makes them stand out. I plan to use the black for the outer border as well. Can't wait to get this one finished.

In other sewing news..... I have been published again. Its so exciting for me to see my projects on the pages of a magazine. This time I made a table runner and matching bunting. There are stitcheries on them both with an Afternoon Tea theme.

I used my favourite Fig tree fabric called Avalon, its so pretty and reminds me of Spring.
I took way too many photos and couldn't just pick a couple so I'll let you scroll through them all.

 I loved making this bunting.
So thats my sewing for this week. I hope you all got lots done to, if you would like to see who else joined in for Friday night sew in, please click here to see the list.

Have a wonderful weekend.

A little bit of sewing on a Friday night.

I had good intentions of sewing alot last night but by the time I got  home and did a few chores, I was just too pooped. I did start a sew together bag for a friend who lives in England, I got all 3 zips in so I was happy with that.
My friend loves pink so I dug out all my pretties  for her bag.
My on line stitching group had a kitchen swap and this is what I received from my partner, some beautiful placemats made from Bonnie and Camille fabric. I love them.
So much work has gone into them., Thankyou Sue.
I made my partner a casserole carry bag, it looks like a mini quilt doesn't it? Thats the outside, The pattern was just plain fabric with no binding, just turned out and top stitched but I wanted to make mine a little more special.

The inside has the handles and loops, I loved making it and I think I'll have to make a few more for gifts.

I'm so happy its a long weekend, I have so much to do, lots to sew and a pattern to write.

Hope you enjoy your long weekend and you find some sewing time.

Sewing and magazines.

Another busy week has come and gone, where do the days get to I wonder. I have some exciting news to share with you, I have a new design that has just been published in the latest issue of Patch work and stitching, Its due out in Newsagents next week.
The theme for the issue was Winter, so I designed a candle mat. Just something a little different, it was so cute and fun to make. I am delighted how it turned out. Of course I had to do a little stitchery. My favourite part of quilting.

The magazine did a beautiful job of photographing my project, they always do, I am quite pleased how my photos turned out to, What do you think?
Last weekend a few of my friends and I got together to start Amy Butlers Weekend bag. I had the best day but the trouble is when you sew with friends we never seem to achieve alot. This is one side and the front pocket,  I used my favourite tilda fabrics and made my bag like a quilt,
I even sewed a little label on the front to make it a little more unique. I can't wait to get back to this and get it finished. I may need some help, its quite tricky.
The first day of winter today and I have  picked the last of the roses that decided to flower, they will brighten my kitchen for a few days.

Hope you all had a great weekend and you  got a little sewing done.
