Almost there..

I'm so pleased to say that I have nearly finished this quilt, I reckon I've been working on this on and off for 12 months, Its called Miss Millies Flower patch by the talented Bronwyn Hayes, I love her designs. I just have to stitch a butterfly in each corner. I'm so happy with my colours and I just love the burgandy border,
On Saturday I'm going to my first Australian quilt convention in Melbourne with my dear friends Cathy and Anna, the plane leaves at 7am so it will be an early start to the day, I can't wait. Only 4 more sleeps.

Another project underway

My new years resolution this year was to finish all the projects I have started so I am working through a few of them and making heaps of progress. I'm sure I'll start a few new ones along the way but thats half the fun of quilting don't you think. When we get new patterns come into the shop I say to Lillian oh I want to make that. I love my job. This pattern is Natalie Bird's design called From the Heart, I have used similar fabrics to the book and they are so pretty. 3 blocks down only 6 to go.

My new quilt

During the christmas holidays I made this quilt top, most of the fabrics are from the Chocoat range and I had been collecting them for ages, today I took it to work to practice my quilting. I was so pleased with it,

The pattern is from Leanne Beasley's book Romancing the Road Trip. I love her designs.

A quick project

Here is a project I started last week, it was in the Australian country threads magazine a couple of issues ago, its by Natalie Bird. I have blanket stitched all the design now I just need to put the borders on, today I started another small wall hanging out of the same issue by Sally Giblin, I haven't taken a photo yet but will show you soon, its so sweet. I finished another Sally Giblin cushion which is so pretty, its for a sample for Esme's where I work, I'll show you that next time. Now the weather has cooled down I'm ready to get back into my projects.

How do you keep cool??

After 4 days of temperatures between 38 and 40 degrees we were sick of the heat so on Saturday afternoon we went out and brought our boys a pool, its only a small one where they can sit and cool off but they have had lots of fun, I even got in myself.

Don't they look refreshed and happy. Jacob hasn't actually got all wet yet. It takes him awhile to get in completely, he's funny.
Nicky and Daniel nice and cool.

A little stitchery

For those of you who know me well you know how much I love doing stitcheries, most of my quilts have a stitchery in them. Here is a little project I made for the shop's display. Its a Rosalie Quinlan design, there are 6 in a set and each pattern comes with a little card of the same design, What a wonderful idea. Aren't they sweet.
Sorry this image is a bit blurry.

An award for me...

I have been nominated for an award from Ann thankyou you made my day,

I have had a great day today, I went to my friend Marina's for a sewing day, we had a beautiful lunch then sat in the loungeroom and did our stitching, we shared a bit of show and tell and talked about quilting and fabrics for ages. Having all boys in my household its nice to share my hobbie with another female, they completely understand my addiction to fabric.
