The Quilts are ready

In 2 weeks time the Quilt and craft fair is coming to Hobart, this year I have entered 3 of my quilts into the exhibition. This one I made last year. Its a Leanne beasley design called The Travel Quilt, This one I made for my husband, its a tumbler quilt that was on the moda bake shop at the start of the year. I liked this pattern so much I have made 4 of these quilts. They are all different sizes.

I love this quilt, the centre applique is a Natalie Bird design from a magazine. The original design had simple borders on it to make a wall hanging. I decided to change it a bit and this is what I came up with. What do you think?
I hope you all found some sewing time today.

Another weekend over

Why do the weekends always go so fast, I think mine fly by as I don't stop. Saturday morning is house work catch up then I break out the sewing machine and get stuck into my projects. This weekend I started playing with my reproduction stash and I made these cute little baskets, I plan to make more then I'll decide how to incorporate them into a quilt.

I also made the first block in a series designed by Lynette Anderson called My garden. We sell these buttons at Esmes where I work, the idea is to buy the button and get the pattern free.

The fabric I used is a new range by Bunny Hill called Petite Maison. Its very pretty.

A little while ago I made these hexagons, I fussy cut the fabrics and I think they turned out really well, I should make some more and make a table runner. I hope you found some sewing time today.

Busy Lizzie continued....

We had a bit of a lazy day today, with today being a holiday we decided to stay home and just potter around. School starts back tomorrow for the boys, they have had a good term break. I decided to get stuck into this quilt and get some of it together. I had a few blocks sewn already so this morning I made a few more.

Then this afternoon I put it together, I still have 3 rows to add. I have scattered a few stitchery blocks in this quilt, they are Anni Downs patterns and very sweet. Its such a good sense of achievement to get so much sewing done in a few days. I need to get back to work for a rest. (Just joking Lillian) Happy sewing everyone.

Busy Lizzie

Its a long weekend here in Tasmania so I'm making the most of my time off and doing some sewing, what's new as my husband would say. He can't understand how I can sit at my sewing machine all day . Oh he has alot to learn, Today I finished a few things on my to do list, firstly was this block for my work project. This quilt is called Remember When by Libby Richardson, this is block 3 and its so pretty. Don't you just love the old singer sewing machine!!
I also had a few postcards to make for my swaps, the theme was your state or country. This is what I came up with.

I bought a piece of beach border fabric from work ages ago and this is what I made. A set of beach postcards, I thought they turned out really nice. I hope you found some sewing time this weekend.

A couple of finishes..

I have had such a busy week, I worked an extra 10 hours this week which was great, Poor Lillian was sick so I ran the shop. I love being in there amongst all the beautiful fabrics and chatting with the customers. Yesterday before I started work I quilted my table runners on the long arm machine. One of the perks of my job is I can quilt my own projects whenever I like. Thanks Lillian. Below is my Indigo, Pewter and Honey table runner made from scraps, its quite long and looks so pretty, today I sewed the binding on now i just need to hand sew it down on the back. This is my favourite table runner, its the length of my 6 seater kitchen table and looks beautiful on the light coloured wood. I Hope you all found some sewing time this weekend.
