My new quilt and more sewing room progress.

Kansas Troubles fabrics  have always been my favourite, ever since I started quilting. I have quite a big collection so I thought a new quilt was in order to use  some of my stash. Here is the end result. A beautiful scrappy quilt using all my favourite prints.
I even made some pillow cases to match. The set looks lovely on my bed.

Its a queen size quilt and the pattern is from Another bite of Schibbles by the very talented Carrie Nelson.
This week has been very productive in my new sewing room build. We got some river pebbles delivered and put them on one side of the new room, this area has been so muddy the past few weeks. It will be lovely sitting here in summer.
The dirt area at the front will be paved later on and made into a nice veranda.

The inside is really coming on, the builder cut a door into the main house so now we can access the room from both inside and out. The plaster is on and now he just needs to finish sanding.
Its very well insulated so I should be nice and warm.
Not long now until I can move in, I'm hoping about 3 weeks, then the fun part for me starts.  I hope you're not getting bored with all my sewing room pics.

Today its so cold and frosty I plan to stay inside by the fire and sew.
I hope you have a good day and you find some sewing time.

A new project

The best part about working in a quilt shop besides from playing with  all the new fabrics that come in, is getting to do shop samples. I am lucky enough to be doing this project called Sweet heart houses by Shabby fabrics.
Its a great project, there are 9 blocks in total and I'm almost finished my 3rd block We will run this programme as a block of the month and to learn more you can head to the shop web site.
I loved doing this house block with its very cute roof.
The fabrics are so pretty. I think the range is called Penelope.
Even more exciting for me is my new sewing room, this week the builder put the weather boards on so now it looks part of the house.
My husband is going to paint the boards tomorrow the same colour as the rest of the house. Next is the plaster which is being started on Wednesday, it won't be long now and I'll be in there. whoo hoo!!! Can you tell I'm excited. I have been standing in there working out where things will go.  I'm sure my boys think I'm a bit mad.
Some of my bulbs have started to flower, Spring is not too far away. The hyacinths are beautiful and smell delicious.
It looks like rain today so I reckon I'll stay in and do some sewing. I've gone back to my Gardeners Journal quilt so I want to work on that today. I hope you have a great day.

Sunday sewing

Yesterday my friend Cathy and I headed off to Burnie for a lovely stitching friendship day. We had such a good time. I didn't take many photos as I was too busy talking.
I did buy some lovely things including this fig tree pattern and some lovely buttons.
I got a little bit of stitching done on my Natalie Bird project. I have stitched a few blocks now, they are fun and quick to do.
It was my friend Tracee's birthday last week so I  made her this table runner, I hope you like it Tracee and you enjoyed your special day. This tumbler block is a great design.
Busy day ahead, I need to do some baking for the boys lunch boxes during the week and of course fit in a bit of sewing time. I hope you all have a great day.

All sorts of things.

Here it is in all its glory, my Sunshine frolics quilt by the very talented Natalie Bird. I have loved every minute of making this quilt.
The stitcheries were so much  fun to do. You know how much I love doing stitchery.

I have started a new quilt by Natalie as well, its called Sweet sentiments. There are 12 stitcheries in total and I have set them out a bit different than the original quilt. I thought I'd make 12 pieced blocks with the stitchery in the middle. Its looking quite pretty so far.

I have lots to share with you on my sewing room progress. Its so exciting now as the window and door are in. So it looks like a room now.
This will be my view of the back garden, look at that frost. I was freezing standing there taking photos. Just imagine a hot sunny day with all my flowers in bloom and me sitting there in my new room doing my sewing, looking out the door. I just can't wait.

The room is all wrapped up now ready for the weather boards. The electrician is coming  this week to do the lights and power points.

This week I also received this beautiful santa sack from sisbabe for our santa sack swap.
Each month from July til December we each send 12 gifts to put in our sack until christmas. Its going to be great fun.
This is the sack I made for Sisbabe.

I have quite a bit of sewing planned for today. The weather is cold and dreary so its a good excuse to stay inside with my sewing machine for company.
Have a wonderful day and I hope you find some sewing time.

A new little quilt

Here it is all finished, my new Natalie Bird quilt called LOVE. I did this as a sample for work and now its hanging proudly in the shop,

I love the little stitchery blocks, they were really fun to do.
I can't wait to share with you the next quilt I'm making for the shop, its beautiful. Once I get started I'll tell you all about it.
Today my son is going for his first driving lesson, my husband is taking him then when he has more of an idea about changing gears and a feel for the car I'll go with him. I feel nervous for him already.
So while they are out driving I'm going to do some sewing, I'm working on a new table runner and a couple of birthday gifts. Have a great Sunday.
