Home made for Christmas

Good Morning,I have joined up with the lovely Jenny of Elefantz to celebrate homemade gifts. I for one love to make Home made gifts for my family and friends. I love to see their faces when they open up my gift and they realize the thought and effort I have gone to  just for them.
Its always a bit tricky as to what to make but once I get an idea I'm right to go. I always think about the colours I'm going to use and the purpose of the gift.
I like to make useful gifts so I have made some very easy zipper pouches, these take less than a couple of hours to make.
I had some christmas scraps so I whipped up this sweet pouch. Perfect for the holiday season.
I made these 2 pouches from just 2 fat quarters, one for the outside and one for the lining. If you cut carefully you can easily get a big pouch and a smaller one  to go with it.
I found these beautiful designs on pinterest. If you are ever stuck for an idea on what sort of gifts you would like to make, pop on over ans take a look, there is so much to see and get your inspired.

I love these ear phones holder, so cute don't you think. The tutorial for making these can be found here.
I love these ipad covers to.

Makes me want to start sewing right now.

I hope I have helped you come up with a few ideas for your gift list.

Happy sewing.

Keeping busy

I have had a good week of sewing time this week, I have dragged this block of the month out of the cupboard and have been working on it everyday. I saw this same quilt all finished and it was stunning so that was all the inspiration I needed to get back to working on mine.

I only have 2 blocks left to make and then the borders.

Sarah quilted my little twirl quilt, it turned out beautiful, so now I  need to get the binding sewn on today and in the evenings I can hand sew it down.

A little while ago I joined a christmas swap on Instagram, here are the goodies I sent to my partner. I made a basket and filled that with tea and chocolate, I made a little mug rug and a cute binding goody bag. I was happy with how they all turned out. My gift hasn't arrived yet but I'll be sure to share it when it does,

My garden is bloomin' beautiful right now, my Lilliums look amazing, all the orange ones are in full bloom, then when they finish I have pink and yellow yet to flower and by christmas all my white Lilliums will be in flower,
I have got a few poppies growing, they are so pretty. I don't have much luck growing poppies from seed. Any tips would be wonderful if you have any. I searched it up on the internet and some people say plant seeds in soil, others say they need light to germinate so sprinkle on top of soil, I did both and hardly any grew. I sprinkled at least 20 packets of seeds and none of them grew.
Wishing you all happy week, I hope you find some sewing time.

Thankyou for stopping by.

Our sewing stations all set up.
I worked on these pretty flower blocks,

Lynda made me this beautiful folding pouch, its so pretty. In my favourite colour and made from cath Kidston fabric. I love it and can't wait to fill it with sewing supplies. Thankyou Lynda. xx
