Journal cover swap

This week I recieved my journal cover swap gift, I was so excited to receive it. It was beautifully made by Lisa and she used my favourite Delilah fabrics. The front cover is so lovely.

Lisa also made me this beautiful Tilda bird out of Tilda fabric. I love this fabric so much and its impossible to find here in Australia. This is a very special treasure.

Gorgeous tags also with Delilah fabrics, such a beautiful set of gifts, thankyou Lisa and thankyou Cheryl for organising this swap.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Lots of finishes

My weekend has been full of sewing, I have been finishing off projects and of course starting new ones. I joined a fantastic journal cover swap with the lovely Cheryl, who organises lots of different swaps. I received an e-mail from the lady I made this journal cover for and she loved it, I was so pleased. Thanks Sisbabe, you made my day. My journal cover hasn't arrived yet but I'll be sure to share a photo as soon as it does.

I even found a red spotty pen at the newsagents which matched it beautifully.

I finally got around to making a pillow to match my half square triangle quilt. I'm so happy with both projects, the pillow just makes the set look so cozy.

I have been making my own labels to put on my projects, I thought these would be good to add on to projects that I make for gifts and swaps. Of course I had to add my own little touch to this pillow. I thought these tags were a great idea. I printed them on the computer using a fabric sheet through the printer.

I also finished my 3rd block of Sunshine frolics, I am really enjoying these stitcheries. They are so pretty mixed with the fig tree fabrics.

Its been such a busy day, now its time to cook dinner and relax a bit.

I hope you found some sewing time today.

My scrap jar quilt

Remember in January when I started my Scrap Jar quilt which was a free tutorial by the very talented Amber over at a Little Bit Biased. I enjoyed making this quilt so much.

Now its all quilted and I love it even more. I love looking at all the scraps I used and my favourite pieces of fabric that I had been hoarding for ages thinking I'll use them one day. Then thought it would be a good idea to put them into this quilt.

It fits on my bed so nicely, plenty of over hang on the sides of my bed. The quilt is 90 inches square so it turned out quite big.

A close up of the quilting I did using an all over design called Daisy chain.

Now today I hope to get the binding sewn on.

I have been doing lots of sewing recently but I can't share photos just yet as they are for swaps I have joined.

I did receive this gorgeous little house from Kathy over at Sew Happy House. during the week, I won it in her giveaway. Its the first giveaway I have ever won.

Right, I now need to tackle some house work then I can sew, sew and sew for the rest of the day. I hope you find some sewing time today.

A long weekend at the beach

We have just come home from a wonderful weekend away. Our friends have a house at the beach so they invited us to stay for the long weekend. We had such a good time. On Saturday evening we went 4 wheel driving over the sand dunes, that was interesting. I don't think I'll be doing that again in a hurry. Talk about scary but it was fun, the boys loved it. We had a fire on the beach at dusk and toasted marshmallows. The setting was beautiful.

There weren't many waves for the boys to boogie board but they made the best of it, they even went fishing and caught 4 fish.

I did manage to do some stitching and get the 2nd block done of Sunshine frolics.

Its looking so pretty. Now I have at least 5 loads of washing to do so I had better get on with it.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

Time for a new project

I have had a lovely weekend, I started cutting into this beautiful bundle of Fig tree quilts fabrics. They are mostly scraps and a few fat eights.

I started sewing a new project. Its a quilt called Sunshine frolics by Natalie Bird, I love her designs, they are just so sweet and fun to do.

This is block one. I love the little rabbits peeking over the sun flowers. I'll share my progress as I Make and stitch each block.

While I was sewing I also whipped up this pin cushion using 1 inch strips and a court house steps design, it turned out really well. I love projects that don't take long to make.

How did you spend your weekend? I hope you found some sewing time.
