More swap presents for me

On Friday I recieved a lovely package in the mail from Shez. It was for a swap I had joined with Heidi called the Happy Day quilters swap. I was extremely happy with the beautiful gifts Shez made me. Look at the wall hanging she made, its so sweet and Shez's stitcing is just perfect.

Two adorable strawberries that now hang near my oven so I enjoy them all the time when I'm cooking.

A lovely pattern and a cute little bucket.

I love all my gifts Shez, thankyou so much.

I had the best time at the craft fair yesterday with 3 of my friends. I will share my purchases during the week. I'm very happy with my goodies. I got some much wanted Tilda fabrics. Hooray.

Have a great week.

Friends with Benefits swap

A little while ago I recieved these gorgeous gifts in the mail from the lovely Simone, for our Friends with Benefits swap organised by Kathy. A lovely wall hanging with hexagons on it, the colours are beautiful and suit me so well.

Simone also made me this cute little purse, I plan on using it to store my scissors and needles.

Thankyou Simone, I love my gifts.

I made Simone this wall hanging by Cinderberry stitches, it was a fun project to do and I'm happy to report Simone liked it alot.

I'm going to the Craft and quilt fair on Saturday with my friends, I can't wait to go. I have a list of goodies I'm hoping to buy and of course there will be things that I buy that weren't on the list but thats half the fun of going to a place full of craft.

I'll be back over the weekend to tell you all about it.

Gift giving and stitching

I got on blogger this morning to find its all changed. Why do they do that. I was happy with the old layout so I have been sitting here with my 12 year son while he talks me through all the new changes and shows me what to do, Kids are so smart.. He has helped me do this post so I hope you can understand it.
I have finished another block of my Sunshine frolics quilt, this is such a fun project, I'm nearly ready to start putting it together.

These photos aren't in order for some reason but I wanted to share with you  gifts I made for my on line stitching group birthday swap. I have started adding little labels I made to my projects. Just a little reminder who they got their gift from.

The theme was "GROW   COOK    EAT" so I made a recipe journal cover and a table mat, they were fun to make and I loved using the retro fabric.

I'm glad you liked them Sue.
Today I plan to do some sewing on a new project I  have been working on using Vintage modern fabric. I love this range just as much as Ruby and Bliss.
I hope you find some sewing time today.

Swap gifts from Tracee

A little while ago Tracee over at Quilt Kitty loves life and I decided to do a one to one swap.

These beautiful coasters are the gorgeous gift Tracee made for me, I love them, they are so delicate and pretty. Tracee did such a good job, they are so well made.

I also received some beautiful fabric, I want to make something christmassy with these fabrics, those ginger bread men are so cute.

The sweet tin was full of little chocolate bunnies but the boys and I ate those before I had a chance to take a photo.
I had the chance to meet Tracee last year when she came to Tassie for a visit, it was only brief but we got on so well, She is so lovely. Next time you are here Tracee you must come over for dinner and a bit of sewing.

I made this wall hanging for Tracee, I borrwowed the pic from her blog as my photo turned out blurry. Its a Cinderberry stitches design and so much fun to make. I do believe Tracee loves this very much. Its so nice when your gifts are appreciated so much.

I also made Tracee a project folder, I have made a few of these for myself and they are so handy and portable.

Thankyou for such a great swap Tracee.

This morning I was up bright and early painting the new daddo rail in the kitchen, it looks so much better now its painted. I used Antique white USA. It gives the kitchen a soft feel with the new blue walls and the cream dresser.

I just can't stop looking at it, I'm so happy with how it turned out.

I did buy a few new accessories to adorn my dresser, these cute spice jars and ...

this gorgeous Jug. They look great mixed in with some red bowls.

I'm making a table runner now to put in the kitchen so I'll share my progress of that very soon.

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you find some sewing time.

Kitchen make over...work in progress

Its been a busy easter at our house, as my husband had a few days off we thought it was the perfect time to repaint the kitchen and do a few other jobs.

Paul spent 2 days making this new daddo rail around the oven. I still need to paint it white but that will have to wait until the weekend when I have more time.

The big job for me was to paint my kitchen cabinet, we bought this when we first got married and I felt it was time for a paint job so I transformed it from this.......

to this. What do you think? Its still not completely finished as I just finished painting the doors and they need to dry but I couldn't wait to show you how it looks so far. The colour is called Scallywag.

I also painted the walls, they were a lovely soft green but after 6 years I was tired of that colour so now the walls are light blue. The correct colour is called Feather by Taubmans.

Its amazing how a room can change with just a few alterations and a new coat of paint, when I have painted the new wall around the oven I'll share the after photos.

Have a great week.

Happy Easter

Happy easter everyone. I hope you are having a lovely break. My weekend has been busy and fun. This morning I cooked my boys pancakes with berries and cream for breakfast. Number one son wouldn't let take a photo of him but 2 and 3 were very happy to pose for a photo to put on my blog.

This is our youngest son, Nicky. He's such a sweet boy.

Number 2 son, Jacob. He is a good boy most of the time. lol

I have a couple of finishes to share with you.

I finished a table runner which I was really happy with. Its made with my Kansas troubles fabrics. I love these fabrics for winter projects. I'll have a bigger project to share later on using more Kansas troubles fabrics.

I also finished a Japanese bag for my sister, she wanted a shopping tote so I made up this design. I hope she likes it.

On the stitching front, I have finished a block from my Sunshine frolics quilt. I'm loving this quilt alot.

Today my husband and I have been painting our kitchen and some furniture, I'll share some photos with you tomorrow as its very messy right now.

Enjoy the rest of your easter, hope easter bunny visited your house.

Swap Gifts and a new project

My on line stitcing group had a Bronwyn Hayes swap and these are the beautiful gifts I received from Sue, they are lovely and the fabric is so pretty.

Look at the gorgeous needlecase and scissor holder, so sweet and beautifully made.

I love my new scissors Sue included, they are so nice, thanks Sue. They will be put to good use.

This is the gift I made for De. I love doing stitchery so this project was fun to make.

With Autumn now here I wanted to make a new winter quilt so I went through my stash and decided on a red, white and blue theme. I also wanted to make something different to what I've done before and this is what I came up with. Its slow going but good fun. I'll share my progress as I continue to work on this baby.

One row together, only 14 more to go.

Have a great Sunday and I hope you find some time to sew as well.
