Blooming Beautiful

Not long now and Spring will be here, I am so looking foreward to some warmer days and Sunshine. My kitchen is looking brighter already with these beautiful daffodils picked fresh this morning. They are such a cheerful flower.

I have a few more bulbs in my garden that are blooming, these grape Hyacinth are so sweet and their big sisters at the back there in a pot. The fragrance is  lovely,  Its such a fun time of year seeing all the new growth on winter plants that have been dormant for what seems like forever. Finally bringing some colour in my garden
I had a bit of fun this morning and took my newly finished log cabin quilt to the park for a little photo shoot. It was too wet to be on the grass so I found some nice dry rocks near the creek and this was the perfect place to lay my quilt and take some photos.

I actually still need to sew the binding on this quilt but I love it so much I couldn't  wait to get some photos.

Today I am finishing off another quilt, I'm on a roll here people.

Have a great day and thankyou  for stopping by.

All for me

I have some amazing friends let me tell you. My friend Cathy went on a trip to USA and attended a quilting retreat, as I couldn't go my American friends made me some gifts for Cathy to bring home and give  to me. Vanessa made me this gorgeous shoulder bag from my favourite fig tree fabric. I LOVE it.
Cynthia made me this awesome little pouch, it will be perfect to carry in my hand bag.
 Plus all these little goodies.

Cathy made me this beautiful bee block and got all the ladies from retreat to sign it for me. I'm going to make a mini quilt and hang it in my sewing room. I thought it was such a lovely idea.

What do you think of this block, isn't it great. I tested this pattern for my friend Janice, it was so much fun to put together. Good job Janice, your instructions were perfect.
I have't done much sewing this week, instead I have been doing cross stitch. Its good to have a change. I made a little halloween project, now I just need to make it into a mini pillow.
I also found some free cross stitch pear patterns in Pinterest, I sewed them up today and just need to stuff the other one. I thought they turned out pretty, cute.

The weekend is nearly over for another week, they always go so fast. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful week. xx

Finishing...

I do love a weekend when we don't have anything on, I can do what I want whenever I want. Of course I'm referring to my sewing. I love waking up on Saturday knowing I've got all day to play in my sewing room.
I love making  little displays in my room, here is one of them. I found a sweet wire basket at the shops but it was a bit small for quilts so I put my table runners in it. I like the look of rolled up quilts.
On Saturday I made a little fabric basket to have out on display. This is Little Ruby fabric by Bonnie & Camille, I have collected all their fabric ranges since Bliss.  I folded up my layer cake squares and stired them int he basket. Isn't it pretty!!
In the evenings I like to have some hand sewing to work on, the last 2 weeks I have been stitching this Gail pan design,  Its ready to be quilted now,  This pattern is going to test my hand quilting skills. I'm not keen on hand quilting but I'll give it a go.

You may remember last week I shared this quilt and said I was making it for our son Jacob, Well I'm still making Jacobs quilt but this one isn't his. its MINE. A very special friend is sending me some USA patriotic fabric to use for the remaining flags in Jacobs quilt so while I'm waiting for that to arrive I decided to make another quilt  for me using all my Bonnie & Camille fabrics, I have 15 different navy fabrics and 15 different reds, I love it. The blocks are so quick to make. I did all the cutting out and then each day sewed a few blocks before I went to work.
I can go to work today satisfied I got lots of sewing done over the weekend  and even a few things finished.

I hope you all have a wonderful week, Thankyou for stopping by. xx
