Almost a finish

I have had a good sewing day today, I have almost finished my nearly scrappy bow tie quilt. I tried to make it really scrappy but I had trouble liking it when the colours didn't look right next to each other so I made each block a similar colour. Now I LOVE it. Tomorrow I just need to put the borders on.

To me, its a scrappy quilt as I've used reproductions fabrics and moda fabrics plus a few pretty fabrics. The best thing is they all came from my stash, except the border. its a beautiful red floral I got from work and thats what inspired this quilt.

Last week was my friend Marina's birthday, this is what I made her.
Its a sewing folder to hold all her stitchong projects.

I really enjoy making these, they are quick and fun and the end result is lovely.

My tulips are in full bloom and they are so pretty, I want to pick them and bring them inside but I know they wil last longer in the garden.

I hope you found some sewing time today, as soon as I get the borders on my bow tie quilt I'll be back to show you.

I love the quilt! The fabrics are a nice mixture. The project folder is really cute too and I'm sure will be appreciated. Your tulips are beautiful! Here in the US we are looking forward to cooler weather and hoping it comes soon.

Your new quilt top is beautiful and so are the tulips.

Your quilt top looks great, Leanne. My tulips are just starting to come up - usually mid September when they come out here and hopefully a bit later so that the Tulip Festival is successful further along the coast.

I love your scrappy bow ties! it's something I've had on my "do" list since seeing one in a library book, here in England.
Lovely work.

Love your 'scrappy' quilt Leanne - and I have to admit to being in the same camp as you - I have real trouble with genuinely scrappy, so am most impressed with your own unique version!
