A few years ago

before I was a quilter, I used to love doing cross stitch. I made these cushions my for youngest son's bed. I had cross stitch pictures everywhere. I was cleaning out my linen cupboard and there they were tucked up on the top shelf so I thought I would get them down and share a few pictures with you. I loved teddy bears and went through a phase of stitching lots of bears.

Then I discovered these patterns called All Our yestyerdays, and they were designs of children from yesterday year. Well I fell in love with those and I stitched quite a few.

Most were little boy designs as I had 3 little boys myself.

I don't do cross stitch much anymore as I discovered stitchery and patchwork so that has kind of taken over. I still like to look back at the crafts I used to do all those years ago.

What did you do before you started patchwork?

I was a cross-stitcher too! I've only recently posted about that with lots of photos of what I made.

They are lovely cushions! I can't remember life before quilting but I did do a lot of different things. toy making, card making, calligraphy, watercolour painting.

I did lots of cross-stitching too - and still do a little of it. I love it, but quilting is my passion right now. I am working on a cross-stitch santa's sleigh for our new grandson's Christmas stocking.

I was a X-Stitcher too - many large and small projects:) One of lifes little joys that gave way when my children came along (too busy and was quite worried about needles and little fingers)

Gorgeous ones Leanne. I had my needle up this week first time for couple of weeks. Made a Taddy Teddy baby sampler for my siters nipper girl Neeta. Lovely it was, mayby I will get myself sorted to do some more.
