Some new projects

Good Morning, its been a busy weeks in my little sewing studio. I have been sewing lots and getting a few things made. Recently I have rediscovered my love of cross stitch, I used to to this years ago when my boys were little then I got bored and quilting kind of took over. You know how it is . Sometimes you need to move onto new things. Well I stitched this cute little design which is now waiting to be made up into a pear shape. It was such a fun project. I had forgotten though how slow cross stitch can be. What other hobbies did you have before you started quilting? I'd love to know.
I have started a new English paper piecing quilt, this one is called Smitten by Lucy Kingwell. Its a gorgeous design and I am very much enjoying making these blocks. My theme is red, white & blue.
Of course I had to have some new fabrics for my new quilt, (wink wink) I love these prints.
I also had to have the new Little Ruby Collection by Bonnie & Camille, this range is beautiful, No plans yet as to what I'll make but you can be sure I'll find something.
I have also been busy sewing christmas blocks for a new magazine project, its hard to think about Christmas  when Easter is just around the corner and in 3 short weeks I'll be in the amazing USA on holidays. But I'm staying focused and trying to sew as much as I can.
Here is my new addition to my sewing room, I have been looking for a nice side board/cupboard for ages and finally found one. I wanted something i could sand back and then paint white, so last weekend we got to this stage, I can't wait to show it off next week all shiny and new.
And last but not least I designed and made this sewing machine cover for a class i will be teaching a bit later on, I love these Sweet water fabrics. So modern and fresh looking.

Ok, thats all my show and tell for this week, I hope you have a wonderful day and you find some sewing time, thankyou for stopping by.

Love your new cabinet! My first stitchy love was cross stitch, and after deserting it for scrap booking and then quilting, I'm doing it again, and totally loving it again. A girl can never have too many hobbies. Where in the US are you going? California, if I remember right?

Lots of Yum Yum. Can't wait to see your Christmas Star quilt all finished. My life suddenly has no time for sewing : ( To make up for that I ordered some fabric to keep me happy. I'm sure you are counting down the days until you fly away. Exactly when will you be in the states? Janita

I love all your projects, Leanne! You're making Smitten? I really want to make that one too, but I just don't have time right now. I've got to make a blessing gown and bonnet, and 2 baby quilts, and a twin size quilt top for a humanitarian project :)

Love the red, white and blue combo, looking forward to seeing this one grow. I'm a born again cross stitcher too, and yes it does seem to take longer than I remember. I'm in love with the single colour sampler style, so at least I don't have to get the colours rit! Your little pear is very cute.

Before quilting, I made my own clothes, played with silk ribbon embroidery - and a little cross stitch. So you have started a red, white & blue EPP project too. I'm still plodding away on mine. I bet you finish before me! Can't wait to see your cupboard transformed. Look T how much storage it has!
