Friday Night sewing results

Hi everyone. I hope you have all had a good week, Mine has been busy with work, sewing and being a mum. My car needs a taxi sign on it because gosh I do some driving around. I thought once the boys got older I would get more "me" time but it hasn't happened yet.  Anyway last night in with lots of other lovely ladies for Friday Night sewing, Hubby was on night shift so I couldn't use my sewing machine while he was trying to sleep so I did a bit of hand sewing on this quilt that has been put to one side for far too long. I appliqued 4 circles onto the quilt and I love it.
This pattern is called In Full bloom by Lynette Anderson. I only have 3 stitcheries to go  so now I really want to get this baby finished.
You can probably see some quilting already on the quilt, what I did was get the quilt beforehand as I didn't want quilting over the stitcheries, its really easy to needleturn them on. Just make sure you only sew through the top layer of fabric. I like the effect alot.

I have started a new quilt for myself, Its a Union Jack quilt in all fig tree fabrics. Next to Bonnie and Camille and tilda,  Fig tree is up there with my most favourite fabrics. I just love how soft and pretty they are and all ranges go together so well. I have a bundle of Aloha girl on order so I can't wait to see that.

I have joined a small swap on Instagram and this is what I made my partner, they are lavender filled bags, I thought they turned out really nice.  What do you think?
I also made a liberty pouch and accessories for another Instagram swap I joined a little while ago and I couldn't remember if I shared what I made.
These goodies are now living in USA,

Tomorrow I have so much sewing planned, I have a few new designs that I must make a start on as I have already been commissioned for those. Exciting stuff for Lizzie the Quilter.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Beautiful stitching and I love your lavender bags...yes I remember the "Mum's Taxi" days. Sometimes my hubby and I waved in the driveway as he took one child one way and I took the other one in the opposite direction Lol!

Everything is so lovely and thank you for inspiring me to get my blocks out to stitch. I think I might quilt mine and then put the stitcheries on like you have I would never have thought to do that. Enjoy your week.

Best idea to have your quilt quilted before adding the applique stitcheries - it looks wonderful. Love your Union Jack idea too.

Another Union Jack.... methinks you should come and live over here! ...lol. Heck.... I could pattern test for you. That would be fun. Get busy with those commissioned designs... before more are ordered. Have fun...xxx

Leanne your little stitcheries are delightful. And I am swooning over your Fig Tree Union Jack. We share a love for all things Fig Tree. :) I have wanted to make a Union Jack quilt for sometime now. I am sorry I have not gotten back to you on what kinds of things I like. I am experiencing a bit of March Madness here. My life suddenly turned crazy. If it is fabric chances are I love it! It appears that I love many of the same things you do. Fig tree .... Bonnie and Camille, Blackbird Designs . Love Pink, Blue and pink, Blue and white, Red and white. Bunnies, Baskets, I am more traditional than modern but I have a little bit of everything in my stash. I have a flower garden and love flowers on fabric. Like little birdies on things. Simple Pleasures :) White dishes, Thrift store treasures, flea markets, family.

I have been collecting a few little ideas for our goodies exchange. :)

Enjoy the weekend and Happy Easter. I hope to find time to catch up on some sewing. :) Janita
