A Day at the Park

I love taking photos, especially of my quilts. So this morning I headed off to the park nice and early to get a few nice shots of my latest finishes. It was a cold and cloudy morning but perfect for taking photos.
I just finished binding this baby on Friday evening. I love it and its now my favourite quilt, I think I say with each new quilt I finish. I used all my favourite fabrics and added some black, Black fabric is something I rarely sew with. But I love how it pops in this quilt. Its modern and scrappy at the same time.
I know you have seen these quilts before but I wanted to share them again. I do love this design by Bonnie of Cotton way. Its the perfect pattern for boys as is the fabric which is Feed Company by Sweetwater.

There were even ducks chasing me around, I think they thought i had some food.

And pretty daffodils, Spring is not far away now.
This old tree had fallen over so it was the perfect backdrop for my beachy themed table runner.

This pillow is one of my designs I had published a little while ago, I'm about to make it into a pattern so people can buy it. I do love stitchery.

Its still a dull overcast day here so I plan on sewing a bit more this afternoon, I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Thanks for stopping by.

I also love taking photos of my quilts Leanne! When I go for walks I am always on the lookout for suitable backdrops. At least it was only the ducks who showed an interest in you today. The strange looks I get often send me scurrying!

Wow, all of your quilts are beautiful! You must be so pleased to have just finished three of them. I think the black pops in your quilt too, I tried that recently, in a Lori Holt QAL quilt which is at the quilter's. I love your outdoor photos, I do that sometimes. The light is so much better! I started your swap gift today :) I'm excited about it, it took me forever to think of something to make for you with embroidery :)

It can be tricky to get a good quilt photo but you obviously have the knack. Looks like you had a lovely time at the park, and brightened up the dreary day with your beautiful quilts. Did you get any strange looks or were the ducks your only company?

Great shots of your quilts. I have a couple that I'd like to take to a nearby battlefield to photograph. There are some sweeping vistas, and lovely split-rail fences that I think would make nice back drops. I think you've just inspired me! I've always admired that pillow in your header photo.

That's a lovely park and your quilts look great displayed there. You're right about the black in your first quilt. It creates good contrast. All your projects look fantastic and you photograph them so well.

Great photos, Leanne. I would never think of taking my quilts to a park to photograph. What a good idea. They are all gorgeous.

As you are hopeful for spring..... we are seeing signs of fall.....I saw Sweaters displayed in the stores yesterday. It is putting me in a end of the year frenzy to finish some quilts of my own. Good for you on all of your lovely finishes! Our anniversary is in September, Might have to make one of those scrappy single wedding rings myself. So many ideas, not enough time for it all. Janita
