Meet my new friends

We are having such a good time on our christmas/new year break, we have been swimming almost everyday. The swimning lessons have finally paid off and now the boys enjoy the water so much more. I have had a day or two for myself and I made these gorgeous Tilda dolls, they were so much fun to make.

I enjoyed making their clothes more than I enjoyed making the doll body but they weren't to hard to assemble.

This one is my favourite, I just love her red jacket, I made it from polar fleece and found a trim to sew around the edges. Their hair was tricky but after doing one doll I got the hang of it.

I recevied this Tilda book for christmas and the dolls on the front cover looked so sweet with their overalls on so I had to make a pair for my doll and give the first Tilda doll a friend.

The boys have laughed at me a few times while I played with ( I mean made ) my dolls, Jacob even said I looked cute playing dolls. A funny thing for a 13 year old to say but I thought he was sweet. Then we got on to talking about toyes I used to play when I was their age. They can't belive we didn't have computers and x box. Kids of today really don't know how lucky they are, especially mine.

A few more days off then back to work for a week then I have some more time off to sew, go the beach, go fishing with our friends and do whatever we feel like. oh the joy!!!!

What was your favourite toys or activity to do when you were a child, I'd love to hear about it.

They are adorable, Leanne. I love the Ruby skirt.
I was rather a tom boy and liked fishing, climbing trees and riding horses. I guess living on King Island for 6 years had something to do with it. I liked reading too.

I come from the time when mothers didn't work and with 4 kids we didn't get many toys, instead we roamed the fields and made our own fun in a time when it was safe to do so. I always felt sorry for my kids as I couldn't let them roam as we did, mind you I did have 3 brothers to look after me :)

The dolls are so cute! I love them! If I can ever get caught up on quilting, I want to make more dolls. I've only made a few and recently made doll clothes. It is such fun! I guess is takes us back in time, doesn't it?

They're marvellous! You are so clever! Glad you had so much fun making them. My first favourite toy was the wrapping paper they came in at Christmas - much to my parents chagrin! ann :-)

What a sweetie, telling you you look cute playing with dolls. They are gorgeous. I love the red jacket too. Gosh as a kid I liked so much, especially playing outside with my cousin (he's 4 years younger), drawing (lost that talent), writing, sewing dolls clothes, making buildings out of empty boxes & decorating them. So much to do when there wasn't a mobile, PC or game player in sight. Tracee xx

I can just see you "playing"' Leanne! Your dolls are a delight - I've seen Tilda's before, but I didn't realize they were so tall!
My favorite toy when I was growing up was my panda bear, Pandy - who now sits on my daughter's bed.
Enjoy the rest of your break with your family :)
