Some finishes

Yesterday I decided to make the little  thread bin from Nat Birds book-red home. Well I made one and thought they were so cute so I made 3 more. They were good fun and it took less than hour to make all four. The hardest part was deciding which fabrics to use.
I have shared this Vintage modern table runner before but I never showed you what I made with the scraps.
You know when you cut a  tumbler block and you have those odd shape bits left over, well.......
I sewed them altogether into blocks and made this little table mat. I actually use it as a sewing machine cover.
Its kind of like a bit of crazy patchwork.

Only 5 more days of holidays then its back to work and the regular routine.
Today I plan to do some sewing on a few more projects. I could get used to this being home every day. Its good fun.

You made 3 thread bins in less than 1 hour!! Now I really feel slow. It would have taken me that long to choose the fabrics. Gorgeous table runner and I love that you haven't wasted a single scrap. Your crazy mat is so pretty.
Hope you are safe from fires.

How timely! I've never liked throwing out the tumbler scraps. Now I know what to do with them! Beautiful table runner and baskets, too!

Your thread catchers look great Leanne. I've made a little table topper with off cuts from a stack and slash quilt I made. They were from trimming the blocks down! No waste there either!

Less than an hour, you are very clever. Mind you it would take me that long to pick the fabrics. It's a gorgeous little mat out of the off-cuts too. Tracee xx

Love your thread catchers Leanne, they are so quick to make, good fun! The runner is gorgeous, and the scraps look awesome. I made a tumbler runner recently, but I don't think my scraps were big enough to do this with, perhaps I did it wrong? OR maybe I wasn't using my imagination enough, and didn't see the possibilities in the scraps....lol
